Sure it's another Hollywood adaptation of a book, but this one's got legs - many sets of legs, in fact. It's the story of a guy who's called by God to build a big boat, so that when a huge flood comes, he'll carry pairs of all the animal species to safety and repopulate the earth. Only this time, the guy's name is Evan, he's a U.S. Congressman, and he has to answer not only to his constituents, but to his family, the media, and everybody else who thinks his religious experience is more along the lines of a midlife crisis. Amidst all this attention, can a modern-day man wrangle all those elephants and kangaroosie-roosies? Showing all cinema 22 June.






We all rely on America's technological infrastructure. It brings us useful things like traffic lights, the Internet, and Howard Stern. You may not even realize it, but you're using technology right now! So what would happen if it was to be systematically demolished by terrorists? Somebody had better stop them, and what better somebody is there than frequent accidental hero John McClane! But wouldn't you know, he's not just in it to save the country and make sure we can still download ringtones, he's also got to rescue his kidnapped his daughter! Yippee Ki-Yay! Those rodents caught on video scurrying through the kitchen of a Manhattan Taco Bell may not have been looking for food - they might have been making it. Perhaps they are the brethren of the animated Remy, a simple rat who wants to be an extraordinary chef. As fate would have it, he winds up in the fabled city of lights, beneath the very restaurant run by his hero, chef Auguste Gusteau. Remy pairs up with Gusteau's garbage boy Linguini, and the two form an unlikely alliance that takes the Paris culinary world by storm.

It's a special day in any young man's life when he gets his first car. The day gets all the more special when it turns out it's not a car at all, but a robot in disguise. Luckily for Sam Witwicky, his new ride is one of the robots out to defend Earth (Autobots) and not destroy it (Decepticons). It will take a mighty battle involving all sorts of military might to keep the bad robots from ruining everything. Showing all cinema 4 July.









Lord Voldemort has returned? Eh, who's going to believe that? The Ministry of Magic says to shun anyone who even suggests such a thing - folks like Dumbledore and Harry Potter. Well, maybe those jerks should be a little more vigilant, because there's going to be a hullabaloo at Hogwarts. Good thing Dumbledore is forming a secret resistance, training our hero Harry his mates for a wizardly battle. But how can Harry concentrate on magic when he's also trying to be a teenager? Rebellion, romance, and raging hormones make for a memorable fifth year at school.

Who cares? It's The Simpsons! They've been on the air for 18 seasons and the trailer for the movie looks hilarious. Truth be told, the plot is being kept under tight wraps, and there are reports that the producers are deliberately leaking false story lines to throw off the Internet crowd. What we do know is that the world has to be saved...by Homer. Saved from some sort of a calamity created...by Homer. The core creative team from the TV show is on board for the movie, and all the regular characters too. Woo-hoo!

Jason Bourne still suffers from bouts of amnesia. The one thing he does remember is that there are people who want him dead. See, the CIA who trained him to be a killer, are still after him. In a way, he's still after himself; Bourne's not all too clear about his identity. So when a reporter offers to help him put some pieces together, Bourne comes out of hiding. But who's good at finding people when they're not hiding? The CIA! And another new organization that wants Bourne dead too! It's a pretty clear ultimatum: Travel across the world to find out who you are, and then get away or get killed.

The world needs a hero and man needs a best friend. They get them both when a scientific experiment goes wrong, leaving an ordinary beagle (oddly named Shoeshine Boy) with extraordinary abilities. What kind of abilities? He can fly! He can speak contemporary American English! He doesn't seem to mind wearing a sweater and cape! And, he's curiously monogamous! That's right; he's after the (literally) fetching Polly Purebread. So when she and all of Capitol City are under threat of destruction by a sinister plot, only a certain anthropomorphic canine can save the day! After all, who doesn't like rooting for an underdog?

In a rural English village in, oh, let's say, Olden Times, a young man named Tristan tries to win the heart of a young lady. All she wants is a fallen star. Easy enough. All the young chap has to do is cross the wall that separates their village from the Faerie realm. Gulp. He does so, only to discover that the falling star is in fact a beautiful lady. And guess what, she's being pursued by other folks too - dangerous folks who all desperately want this star. Oh, what an adventure our Tristan will have as he travels across the universe, encountering witches, pirates, ghosts, and more!
